The Highbridge Community Development Corporation (HCDC) is partnering with Fordham University’s Center for Community Engaged Learning (CCEL) to collaborate on the St. Francis Commons project- a plan to construct and manage a large common space within HCDC’s proposed, new residential development. To ensure that this space fulfills community needs and desires, Fordham’s CCEL will orchestrate a needs assessment of the neighborhood. In hopes of setting the foundation for this assessment, Jaden Vazquez and Lauren Pecora’s research, illustrated on this website, outlines the history and demographics of Highbridge, and maps the current landscape of community organizations already serving Highbridge.
